These sterling silver fordite cufflinks are a great gift for that special man in your life. Whether it be a wedding gift, Father's Day, Christmas or a birthday these make the perfect men's gift. The fordite "stones" have been bezel set in a thick bezel. Our name has also been stamped on the back along with the .925 sterling mark.
Fordite (also known as Detroit Agate or Motor Agate) is a unique car enamel material made, years ago, by the now extinct practice of hand spray-painting cars in big automotive factories. The paint gradually built up on the tracks and these layers were hardened repeatedly in the ovens that the car bodies went into to cure the paint. The spraying process has changed and there is no longer paint build-up which means there is a finite supply of fordite.
